What a great photo for this posting! I feel like I am right in the shopping cart whipping down the aisle!
One of my first jobs was as a cashier in a grocery store. 35+ years later I can still remember some of the prices - a pound of butter was 77 cents.
Over the years whenever I would get really overwhelmed in whatever work I was doing and was on the verge of quitting - I would consider going back to work in a grocery store again.
I like the fact that it is a people job, that it is like team work, that you take no work home with you - in fact the bonus is that you can do your grocery shopping at the end of your shift!
