Wow David - The Cat in the Hat is a book I remember with great fondness.
You must be learning to read short vowel sounds.
There is a really good book called Two for the Road by Rosanne Keller. It has two stories in it. My favourite is called Ms. Trucker.
It tells the story of a truck driver who is a woman and how hard it is for her to be accepted by the men truck drivers. There is romance and everything in the book!
And all the sentences in the story have short vowel sounds.
You might be able to find it at your library.
Here is the call number to look it up: 428.62 K246.10
Check it out!
